The Ministry of Energy and Mining Office reports that proceeded to the opening of financial bids under the tender to install new thermal generation under Resolution 21/2016 of the Secretary of Electric Power, for which they received bids for a total of 6,611 MW.
Note that in this day envelopes were opened with 49 offers from 22 companies on which the Secretary of Electric Power resolve the final acceptance on 14 June. Some of them are already operating in the domestic electricity market and the interest of new players in the sector emerged. Four bids propose to deliver the new energy (545 MW) to the national grid in December 2016; 10 (685 MW) state so in the first quarter of 2017 and four more in the second quarter of next year (229 MW). In addition, 26 deals undertake to enter service in the second half of 2017 and five in 2018.
Some of the companies that submitted bids were: Pampa Energy, Albanesi, Central Puerto, Araucaria Energy, MSU, Power IC, SO Energy, among others. The evaluation will be based on the benefits that the incorporation of the new generation will mean the system in terms of operating costs, maintenance and reduced risk of failure.
